HEEEEEEELP!!!

Let me describe the situation right now.
2 days ago, our computer reported a problem in XP *for unknown reasons*, so we thought of re-installing windows again. Firstly we installed windows 98, and then it was WinXP's turn. So we clicked YES to start the setup, when all of a sudden another problem was encountered; There was an error message that drive C: is out of order due some problems that needs a specialist *actually it was bad clusters*. And in fact, through out my over-8-years being a frequent computer user, I never passed by such thing before, which left be paralyzed!

OK, I told myself: "Don't panic!". I took my little PC to maintenance yet to my surprise; the technician was off for 3 WHOLE days. Which means: I'll have to live this way till Sunday… *no comment*..
I told myself again: "OK, I can still install Photoshop 7 on Win98 if Photoshop 9 CS2 can't be installed already on WinXP" . I hold my breath and started the setup. To my surprise for the 2nd time; the computer didn't respond to any sort of installation. I made a scan for the whole drivers and nothing appeared except unfixed-errors-message. Till then I felt sick!

I went again to the main window of "My Computer" when all of a sudden I discovered the size of drive C: has increased from 5 GB to 10 GB, which is practically-speaking: IMPOSSIBLE!..

GOSH! Right now the NEW PC is about to rest in peace forever. And even the old PC can't keep all my files and folders *for the memory size*. I wonder what to do and whom to ask? I am not a specialist and I don't know any.. I can't wait till Sunday, yet I don't know what to do.
Somebody HELP I am going crazy!

I used to have bad clusters on my old laptop, and then it crashed.

I hope you can get it fixed without losing anything important. I usually figure these things out as I go along, so sorry I can't help you.

I miss Jia Li and Steliano! It seems like everyone is going away :(

Happened to me before, the only solution was to do a low-level format for the hard drive. (Only the maintenance techies can do that.)

But as a general advice:
Use Linux and dump Windows (not completely though :-)

Well, as for Linux downloading it on a dial-up line is a complete waste of time. It's much more practical to try getting a CD from anyone who ditributes it. Check out this

sorry I can't help, I use a very good way when such a thing happen to me...
I disconnect the harddisk and use another one :D and the broken one is sent then to a friend of mine who is experienced in doing low level format, whenever I visit him i find him doing so for someone else :)

about linux, if ahmed el said knows you are searching for linux and didn't tell him he will go mad, the man is already mad with linux :)

I got a good linux copy (on 6 cds) from a friend of ahmed el said, I think he can provide it if you need it or you can take it from me ;) (but you will have to get it back, ha wala eeh?)
