well there is a good care given to electronics in general in egypt.. you can say its mostly like a trend..
more over, we've excelled way too far in its studies really.. especially in two major univercities in Cairo.. i'm happy to be in one of them :)

I know it's silly but I am a little curious to know this: Why is there an Electronics and communications major in Electrical Engineering department while there is a whole department for Electronics and Engineering (Ittisalat I mean)?
well: electronics and communications is the "ettesalat" dept.
while, computer and information systems is mainly the computer dept.
in reallity they are 3 deprtments aslan..
electronics engineering
communications systems
computer engineering
plus the latest one "meca-electronics"
and don't ask my on what priorities they handled it that way..
till then moment i get in NOTHING!!!
Sorry for further curiousity but is 'Electrical Engineering' 'Handasa Kahraba2eyya', which is a different dept. from 'ettesalat' or '7asebat' ..etc. (In all this I'm speaking about Cairo Uni.Engineering coz AFAIK people major straight after the freshman year.)

in my uni. electrical engineering is the general years, then u go specified in your major as: computer or communications or power.
3 total different departments. while electrical is not a department... do you get me?
